Highland Park is an old and supremely beautiful neighborhood in Dallas, said to rival even Beverly Hills, with mature trees and parks, and wonderful historic homes. It’s a lovely area to explore and come to for lunch or dinner – and to shop, with some unique and very upscale shopping at Highland Park Village, the first shopping center of the type in America.
Highland Park is home to Southern Methodist University, which hosts on its campus the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. We visited this storehouse of history and spoke with the museum director. The Presidential Library contains a full size replica of the Oval Office and some 43,000 artifacts, including some from the 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers.
After this we went to Highland Park Village and stopped in at Hadleigh’s, called by Esquire magazine one of the best clothing stores in America – watch the video to see why. After shopping comes food, so the next stop was Bistro 31 for Mediterranean cuisine and unique flavors from France, Spain and especially Italy. And upstairs is the Sushi lounge! This is Highland Park, a must-visit neighborhood of Dallas.
